Windows or MacOS

Published by Aidan on

Windows or Mac? A common question we
get all the time. So, is there a winner here?

Strictly speaking, each of them has merits and
downfalls. Where Apple devices are usually sleek and
flashy, Windows devices are often cost-effective and
practical.

MacBook Airs cater well for people who are on the
move a lot and require something light and fast with
exceptional battery life, and MacBook Pros are
powerful laptops with rich displays that are great for
creative professionals, and their desktop counterpart,
the Mac Pro, is configurable, powerful and designed to
accomplish the most intensive of creative tasks.

However, with vendor support from dozens of
companies like HP, Dell, Lenovo and more, Windows
devices range from the extremely low-end right up to
the extremely upmarket. Windows devices also come in
a lot of configurations (laptops, desktops, tablets, 2-in-
1s, etc) and are often easily upgradeable and readily
serviceable.

As for the operating systems themselves, Windows and
Mac, devotees to either ecosystem will praise their
ease-of-use, so it’s all a matter of opinion. Is it hard to
make the swap? Not really. With a little bit of effort and
guidance, finding what you’re looking for is usually just
as easy as learning some new names and shortcuts.
Should you make the swap? Not unless the tasks
you’re trying to do would be better accomplished by
switching platforms.

So, which is best for you and/or your business?

That all depends on your specific uses. At Illium, we
analyse the needs of our customers alongside them,
and work to find the best configurations that optimize
their workflow and peace of mind. Give us a shout if
you’d like to know more and if you’d like us to come
through and analyse your computing needs.
